I've been thinking alot about Sept 11th lately. My heart goes out to everyone who lost a loved one...

I thought I would add the Firemans Prayer, EMT Prayer, and the Police Offcier Prayer in honor of the people who lost their lives on this day.

Quote:

A Fireman's Prayer
When I am called to duty, God,
Whenever flames may rage;
Give me strength to save some life,
Whatever be its age.
Help me embrace a little child
Before it is too late
Or save an older person
From the horror of that fate.
Enable me to be alert
And hear the weakest shout,
And quickly and efficiently
To put the fire out.
I want to fill my calling
And to give the best in me
To guard my every neighbor
And protect his property.
And if, according to my fate,
I am to lose my life,
Please bless with your protecting
My children and my wife.

Quote:
EMT Prayer

GOD ...
Grant me the ability to give emergency care.
With skillful hands, knowledgeable mind, and tender loving care.
Help me deal with everything, when lives are on the line.
To see the worst, administer aid, and ease a worried mind.
So help me as I go today, accept what fate may be.
Touch these hands, use this mind, help this EMT.
Amen

Quote:
Police Officers Prayer
Oh Almighty God, whose great power and eternal wisdom embraces the universe.
Watch over all policemen and law enforcement officers.
Father in Heaven please give them the strength, courage and perseverance to endure
The unjust condemnation, danger, and physical abuse to which they are at times subjected.
We recommend them to your loving care because their duty is dangerous.
Dear God, grant these brave men your almighty protection,
Unite them safely with their families after duty has ended.
Amen

Tammy, I think it takes a very special person to do that kind of work. I can see how you would have nightmares..I know you'll never forget.

Do you remember what you were doing when you found out about the twin towers? I had just started the job I have now, and I was in payroll training. We had a break, then the instructor came running back in and started messing with the tv. He turned on the news, and we sat there in complete horror for the next 2 hrs. My little boy was only 2 then, and I remember being terrified for him and his future. All I wanted was to go pick him up from daycare and be at home with him and my husband.
