Paying off PDL's is soooooo slow. I can only pay off one each payday. That's 2 per month and I have 7. I can't keep doing this for another 4 months. Who here has already experienced their payday loan independence day?

Please tell me there's an end...........

Guest--

There are a lot of us who have come through this. I paid mine off a few months back.

There is an end, and it will come sooner than you think.

Are your loans storefront or internet? Are you sure you haven't overpaid what is legal in your state?

Tell us more about your situation, and we'll try to get you through this quickly. :)

Yes, there is!! Nothing last long, not even these payday loan problems. Browse through this forum and find out others who have been in similar problems. Now, some of them are payday loan free. You also can do it. If you are comfortable paying two accounts each month, do it that way only. Let other lenders wait for a while. Don't forget to keep in touch with them. Get all the latest statements of your debt accounts from them. Revise them thoroughly if the charges are within the state laws. Always be available to the lenders, especially those not violating the laws (storefront lenders) so that some arrangements can be done for you.

i live in ohio and have 2 online -paydayok, mycashnow, and 3 storefronts, americas check mart (ACM), check into cash, and cash connection. just closed bank account today. so far just one call from check into cash. they told me to either borrow the money from family, or another payday place to pay them.

PLEASE do not go to another pdl to pay them. How much have you paid on the 2 internet pdls? Getting another pdl is just going to add to the problem. Then next pay it's just another one you can't afford and more bills that can't get paid. Just keep after the storefronts to work out an agreement.

amy445,

We consolidated them with T&C in December 2005 and thanks to polly's help, all got marked paid in full. All the online lenders were way over paid some more than $1000.00. I paid the store fronts one at a time. They all demanded payment in full and I sent $25.00 every two weeks til each one was paid. They didn't like it, but if they wanted their money, they would take the payment we could afford or get nothing.

I had 5 online pdls. Since I've filed a complaint, 1 has marked my acct. paid in full due to overpaying them. One is wanting to argue with me, I am not backing down, they keep flip flopping over which state law they want to use, when I point out either way they are breaking both OH and NM laws so I am up for a complaint in both states, they get mad. That leaves 3 others who have yet to respond. I'm still waiting, I'm not settling for anything I have paid way over the legal limit allowed and I want them all to be paid in full. I've already paid out over $2500 in interest fees alone for a total of loans amounting to only $1200

T & C doesn't require good credit. You set up a payment plan with them and make your initial payment. Then pay them once a week, biweekly, or once a month to pay your creditors. I don't think most consolidation companies requrie good credit because most people looking for help more than likely do not have good credit due to high debt or difficulty paying off debt.

Hi! I'm the guest that originally posted on this thread. Thanks to everyone for your encouragement. I just don't have the fight in me to go head to head with the pdl's. I just want to pay them off and be done!!!! I'm late on my mortgage and car payment because of this mess. I don't know what it's like to pay anything on time anymore. I'm paying off another one this Friday. Then I will have 6 more to go. I could just scream. I'm going to be so short...... I but I don't care. I will NOT TAKE OUT ANOTHER ONE. EVEN IF I STARVE!

Guest-you don't have to go it alone. There are MANY here going through it too. We're here to help and guide you. Why don't you sign up for the forum,it's free, and talk with a credit counselor,it's free too. They may have solutions that you don't know about. These counselors are trained to help you and give you options. It won't hurt, might help.Remember when you give up,it's a permanent fix for a temporary(though it doesn't seem that way) problem-nothing lasts forever, and some day you will be debt free. If I learn the lesson,I won't have to repeat it over and over-and hopefully I finally have learned!Hang in there :D ...Karen

what does it mean if they are not licensed in ohio? mycashnow told me they are licensed everywhere and perfectly legal. of course he would not tell me if they were not. but does this mean they could not sue me?

All loan companies must be licensed in the state where they are lending money to the borrowers. They won't get a legal stand on you because of the fact that they are not following the laws practiced in your state. Well, these sorts of companies try to recover money with such illegal threats because they cannot knock the court room. Be aware about the payday loan laws in your state so that you can pay off the actual amount only.

They are not licensed in OH, he is lying to you, I looked it up and they are not licensed to conduct business in OH period. He isn't going to sue you becaue his company isn't going to sue you because the company isn't licensed. All of my internet pdls said the same thing, they are professional liars.

Defineatly pay your mortgage, car payment and utilities or you will be out on the street with no job and won't be paying crap. I came here with 10 and am down to 3, it is a long process, takes a little time and patience. Hang in there, you will get through it. Keep up the bills that you have to, you don't need the added stress of repo or foreclosure! Hang in there! Goodluck.

Never give up hope! If you give up hope, then you will be defeated. (I have to keep reminding myself of that too every now and then). Sometimes we have to look at how far we have came and feel accomplishements and not look at how far we still have to go and feel like we are not making any headway.

The online lenders who have overcharged for your state should be required to refund the extra interest to you, shouldn't they? And how can they enforce terms if they are not even licensed in your state?

Leah,

You and I both cannot beat ourselves up over what we have done. If that is the case, then I would have been in the hospital a long long time ago.

What we can do is to move forward and remember that we made a mistake and remember the mistake that we made. Then forgive ourselves for falling into the trap that so many fall into and pick ourselves up. That is all we can do.

And somewhere along the way, make sure that there are others who don't fall in the same trap that we did.

Trust me I know. It is embarassing. My boss said that he found one of my old checks one day on the floor underneath the desk. it was a check for Advance America. He never did say anything else about it. Just said that he found a check underneath the desk.

I don't know why we feel embarassed about these things these days because I feel that whether we are rich or poor, we all have debts.

But here, coming here, gives you hope. I have never been to a website who has helped me find a way out. I am not crying anymore or sad because of debt. Instead, I am finding ways to save money. And that's the best thing.

Are these storefront? In the state of Oh I belive they have to give you a payback plan. But if this is storefront they can take you to court as well. If I were you I would contact the OH AG office and ask their advice. Also you can go to paydayloaninfo.org and look at OH laws. Also, in the state of OH voluntary wage assignemnts are illegal but your employer may not know this so you need to speak with someone in your payroll dept. They can only attack your wages if you they get it court ordered. Which, if this is storefront, they can do.
