You see it all the time. Someone gets a call from a number they don't recognize, and they don't answer the the calls or want to call back. People to turn to forums (this one and others) to try and figure out who's calling them so they can figure out how to handle the situation.
Obviously, the easiest way to figure out who's calling is to answer the calls. Many people, my self included, don't answer calls from restricted or unfamiliar numbers and don't return the calls if they don't bother to leave a message.
Well, I had one such call today from 800-391-7048, a telefundraising firm working for not - for profit charities ( hence NOT COVERD by the National DO Not Call List).
I came across a website, 800notes.com where you can enter a 800 number and if someone has posted it in their forms it will display that information. As far as I know this only works for toll free number that have been reported to the site. If the number your looking for isn't there, you can report it and if someone else comes along searching for it, they can updatre the information. Definetly a cool site.
I have always thought this would be a good idea, and I'm glad to see someone else thought of it to!

Don't know if anyone's used @@www.whocalled.us@@ , but that is another site where users post info about the number that called. It's pretty neat because it shows a map with little dots of all the people around the US that reported the #.
