One way to deter the automatic (computerized) spammers is to put in the word/number verification feature. when someone posts they have to type in a word/number to enabled the post to go through. If there is a way to disable this for members then i am all for it but if this type of verification is implemented them spammers would not get through as easily especially computer generated.

Well as I am new to the world of blogging...I have been traveling around quite a bit and visiting other blogs. Now many including Google's Blogger use the word verification....however, I myself find it annoying...especially when you can't read their numbers very well and you have to keep trying. I implemented it on my blog for a few days and my posts went down. So I am back to choosing all post moderated. And as soon as I removed the word verification....the next day my post were back up again. So for me moderation works better....even though it is a big pain.

I can remember quite some time ago when spamming was absolutely out of control on this site. It was crazy. Alot of ****crap. But some changes were done and it is no longer a problem. Some moderators would spend their entire time on here just deleting the spam and doing nothing else. It is much much better now.
