What is are your best ideas for a great not too expensive way to idle away the summer days.
I love a bbq with good food and great friends.time with the kids at a theme park.(not cheap but once in a while I will splurge)
When I lived in NJ surf fishing was my favorite summer pastime.
When I lived in NJ surf fishing was my favorite summer pastime. I would be on the beach before sun up and leave before the crowds showed up. Then I would clean and cook my catch for lunch or dinner. I would often go back in the evening after they left. Now I am in Florida and it is so hot I do not even want to go out when the sun is up. Although the winters are beautiful.

I've been fishing all my life, and have taught my kids to do the same - they love it! We usually pack a picnic lunch and take it with us.
We go on day trips to local lakes, parks and FREE attractions, again, we pack a picnic lunch to take with us instead of buying expensive restaurant food.
