Hello All,

Thanks for this wonderful community.

I got discharge on Feb 2009 and since then I???m trying to put my life back on the track. Recently I got a job too. So, things have started taking positive turns. :) Anyway, I was wondering??? can I afford a new car especially with bankruptcy in my record? Any suggestion would be helpful.

I agree a recent bankruptcy will disqualify you from any legit car dealer. Now if you are impatient and go to a car lot then that is where you will get into trouble. They will charge you a crazy interest rate and your payment will never end BE CAREFUL. IMO, I would just tough it out and repair your credit untill you save enough for a nice downpayment on a new ride ;)

Evenin' Thunderbolt -

If you'll read my post at message #9 in this thread, we'll both benefit. You'll get some good advice. And I won't have to type all that again. ;)

Seriously, best of luck with your car shopping.

just my opinion even if you can afford one, i dont see why you should. honestly there are some great deals on some used ones right now scince the economy took a crap people were unloading them pretty quick to get rid of that payment. in my experience you never know whats gonna happen then your stuck with a payment. i will never finance a vehicle ever again. cash only all the way for me! if i dont have it i dont get it.
