Im going home for Christmas if weather permits, how about you?

Not sure yet, but I'm sure it will be yummy.

I'm spending the week at my TJ's house in PA...He is a terrific cook.

I will, however, be in charge of getting pies from the amish restaurant in my town. Last time I went out there, I didn't bring any pies and everyone in the house was crushed.

Laura, we did shishkabobs last year and they were awsome. Steaks sound good....I will have to think of our menu...everyone always comes here...I know Christmas Eve will be lasagana, spaghetti and clam sauce, suffed shells and possibly manicotti. Depends on how industrious I feel....Christmas Day is my MIL's meal!!

this xmas i told my family that we are going to put some food on the grill. they thought i was crazy because the weather may be cold. i told them that we don't have to stand outside and watch the food, just leave the back door open. the grill is right outside the door on the deck. the everyone agreed that we will grill out. just the thought of more dressing and ham and all that other food made us gag. :D

I am looking forward to going over to my sisters house, that is where we all go. Mom has done her share for God and country. I love going to my sisters house. It is so pretty, and big yard. We all have a good time. I live so far away from my family that the time goes by so quick before I have to leave. I am looking forward to the traditional dinner and my family. Sounds like the gang here is going to have a good time seeing their family and all the great food, sounds great. Merry Christmas!

Well we will be up at the cabin again. Hubby gets a black forest ham from work and we will be having that. Don't know what else. I may cook something over the fire (if it's not snowing lol) The family will be getting together a week before Christmas because thats my daughters 18th birthday so we will do the family thing then. But it will be just hubby, the kids and me up at the cabin :) I am thinking I may be up there for a week :) there is a plant shut down for the week of Christmas so I won't have to come back home till New Years Day :)

Wow! All these different types of dinners! I guess I'm so used to having the "traditional" dinner, it never even crossed my mind to have mexican or spanish or anything like that! That sounds great! And to cook out on the grill? Holy cow! I'd freeze to death! I like puddle's idea of the cabin. And roxy's idea of the italian (did I spell that right?) dinner on Christmas Eve! And then mexican on Christmas Day! Can I just make my rounds with all you guys????

Christmas Eve we spend with my mother-in-law. Since its just me, Jim & her we usually go to Red Lobster and get lobster. We are going to do that again this year, but I can't have lobster...but they make a good steak at ours, so I'll have meat!

Then Christmas Day is at my mom's. It's Dad, Mom, my sister & her roommate, my other sister & her fiance, me & Jim. We'll have baked chicken, stuffing, beans, veggies, mashed potato. Mom covers the chicken in marmalade & bakes it. Makes a nice crispy/gooey coating. Then for desert we'll have ice-cream or cake. I'm simple-happy with a bowl of ice cream!

Devil's curry (also known as curry debal in Kristang or curry devil) is a very spicy curry flavoured with candlenuts, galangal and vinegar from the Eurasian Kristang (Crist????o) culinary tradition in Singapore and Malacca, Malaysia. It is often served during Christmas and on other special occasions.

Kristang cuisine blends the cuisines of Southeast Asia with western cuisine inherited from Portuguese colonial rulers. Other popular Kristang dishes include curry feng, Eurasian smore (a beef stew), and sugee cake.

I do like curry????????s
We will be going to my Dad????????s. He has this un-named aliment that left him unable to get around and now he has trouble chewing and swallowing. So I????????m looking for ideas for soft foods, while still making it festive.

I grew up with the traditional meal, ham and all the trimmings. But when I moved to England and spent my first Christmas there, I got introduced to Christmas pudding with white sauce.... Yum! Brussel Sprouts seem to be a traditional part of the meal, and I used to HATE them.......but have learned to tolerate them.

Now that we're back in the US, I was hoping that my in-laws would send us a Christmas pudding, but no such luck.
