A suppose bill collector called today saying I defaulted on a pay day loan. I haven't even heard of this company. The guy threatened to send me to the DA that I will have to take check writing class and lose my license. Is that possible?

If the bill collector is unable to validate the debt, it will mean that he doesn't own the account. In such a situation, the bill collector cannot collect the debt from you.
