A suppose bill collector called today saying I defaulted on a pay day loan. I haven't even heard of this company. The guy threatened to send me to the DA that I will have to take check writing class and lose my license. Is that possible?

If you haven't taken the payday loan, you won't be liable for paying it. You can ask the bill collector to validate your debt. If the bill collector is unable to validate the debt, it will mean that he doesn't own the account. In such a situation, the bill collector cannot collect the debt from you. You can send him a cease and desist letter and ask him to stop contacting you.

Even if you did borrow the loan, debts are civil , not criminal. Hang up on them. Report them to your AG's office. You can try sending a cease and desist but it sounds like a scam agency.
