And l_m_t, that all depends. If you're single and cooking for 1 (like myself) it's usually about the same cost - often even cheaper if you pick your restaurants right. Even though I know how to cook, I usually eat out nearly every day.
But, I eat way too much junk food....
Even if you go vegetarian, Chinese restaurants often have low priced veg dishes. Eggplant with hot garlic sauce, for instance, is usually around $10 to $15 and for me is usually 2 delicious meals (with rice, of course).
