i am currently paying a federal restitution, and have gone behind. by two months payment. I must appear before a (review of my finances) court, and i assume they will assess a judgement.....how much of my government pension and social security can they take from me each month?

Wayne, I would see a lawyer and show all the documentation. I believe it depends upon various factor, like principal amount, monthly payment, the state you are from and so on. You can see this page for an idea-
moed.uscourts.gov/FinancialSection/FineAndRestitutionPayment.asp

A lawyer of your state might help you more. BTW, what is the reason that you could not make your payments? Share more about the judgment too.

Hummm, Restitution? that implies a criminal conviction. The rules relating to this may be far different than those relating to consumer issues. Normally, in consumer issues, they can only take up to 25%. However, with debts to the government it's a whole different. I know the IRS can take more if they see fit.
