Yeah, once you tell them not to contact you at work they are not supposed to, but most pdl places ignore that.

If you are worried about potential calls, tell your boss/coworkers that your id was stolen and someone took out a bunch of payday loans. That way when they call you can tell people to just hang up and not beleive the lies.

Hi laf, welcome! I am a little late coming into this thread. I only had a problem with one of the pdl places continuously calling my work after I asked them not to. They just wouldn't stop. Every time they called, I sent them an email and told told them that they were violating the law. It took about 10 times for me to tell them that to get them to finally stop calling my work. I think the identity theft idea will be much simpler! Good luck to you :)

When I called the RI AG office, they referred me back to the state banking commission. After reading this thread where "laf" said the RI AG office couldn't do anything b/c it didn't fall under the Consumer Division, I am puzzled. I am beginning to think that the RI AG office just doesn't know what to do to help us?!!! Or is it b/c these are IPDL's that are licensed in other states and they can't pursue them?

I thought if an IPDL isn't licensed in RI AND is NOT licensed anywhere else, then the RI AG SHOULD be able to help us. DO THEY JUST NOT HAVE A CLUE ABOUT THEIR JOB??? (Serious question here!!!)

Any thoughts or suggestions on what we can do to wake up the RI AG office and get them to do their job,,,er, I mean help us?? :?

Laf, You need to give the Ag time to respond. Sometimes it can take up to 3 or 4 weeks but you will get a response. Hope everything works out for you. KYSIDE38

Hello,
I at least 12 payday loans out. I had to close my account because some activities did not make since to me. I have been trying to get the address of these company, but can't seem to found them. My bank statement only gives account numbers, no phone numbers. Along with other debts I'm gonna have to file chapter 7. Do you address of these PDL:
United Cash Loans, 10-Integrated Fi loan, Antilles Venture, CashNet USA, Credit Protection, LoanShop, Magnum, ameriloan, Paragon, ASAP, Paydaymax, and Esidelender.

I hope you don't have to file bankruptcy because of the internet payday loans, because there is hope of dealing with them without having to file for bankruptcy. What state are you in? And how much were the loans (each) and how much have you paid on them (include the roll overs/"refinancing" fees) You will find these companies are not licensed, and in some cases not even licensed in the state in which they are located. You will need to file complaints against each one of them with your Attorney General's Office. Tell us which state you are in and we can post the laws regarding payday loans.
