Court and old debt

I read somewhere that if you went to court you could get a creditor to dismiss or wipe out a portion of the balance if it's an old debt....anyone have any information on that at all.

Terry, do you mean arranging a settlement with the creditor at the court? If you are willing to pay off the debt, the creditor can arrange something for you outside the court also. You have to talk with them and explain the situation. They will be willing to offer you a reduced balance.
