Currently my husband and I together are $10,000 in debt and we are trying to pay off the credit cards but the interest rate on all of them is too high and I never am able to bring the amount down. It is very frustrating. I am interested in consolidating to bring the rates down and the monthly payment down. I also, know that our credit scores are low and really want to get them up and have a good credit.

The main benefit of the consolidation program is that the interest rate you are paying to your creditors will be negotiated and brought down to a lower percent. I was paying an interest of 23% on one credit card account. I included this debt account in the program and my counselor was able to reduce it to 13%. Also, if you are behind in your payments, the counselor can help to wipe off the late payment fees and other financial charges. Talk to a counselor and his negotiation will help you in fixing the affordable payments. All the bills will get combined into one monthly payment and you will draw only one check each month towards your different creditors included in the plan. These payments will help in building up your credit scores because the creditors will update your accounts with the bureaus after they are paid off. I started the program with such hopes and am thinking to see the positive consequences very soon in my credit. This program has been helpful in my individual situation.
