Maybe I'm just dumb, but I didn't know this and thought maybe others don't either.I called Sears the other day concerning my sons(adult) account. His interest and charges were balooning all over the place. He is on disability and only makes min. payments. Well, come to find out they have a plan called Fractional Balance which eliminates interest, finance charges and over the limit charges. He will pay a fixed amount, she worked with me on this, for 12 months. This will go directly toward the principal and get his debt down quicker. Maybe other credit card companies have such a plan. I know I have requested that they drop interest, lower payments, etc.,and sometimes it works,on my ownI was just not aware they had an actual name for it.Hope this helps someone :D ...Karen

I also heard about some credit companies offering such programs for people going through financial hardships. They have a separate department for this purpose. You have to get in touch with them and explain your problems. They arrange the payment plans as per your situation. It's news to me that Sears is offering such a program for good reasons.
