I have credit card debt of about $24000 and am current , but about to have a job cease, and fear I will not be able to continue the high payments. Is consolidation the best way?

Hi

Consolidation can be an option if you are expecting defaults in the payments. The plan can be designed with lower monthly payments so that you can afford it until the debt is paid off. The interest rates may also sound higher for you at this time. If you include the accounts in the program, the counselor will be able to reduce the existing interest rates with your creditors and reduce the overall debt. This can be an option for you. Talk with the counselor and know your best moves.
