They sent my son what appears to be a phoney Summons and a Complaint. Both are titled "In the Superior Court of the State of Washington for King County," but they have no numbers. The Complaint for Monies begins in Bold letters, "We are a debt collector. This communication is an attempt to collect a debt.
In the "Summons (30 Day)" section, it says in order to defend against this lawsuit, you must respond to the Complaint by "stating your defense in writing and serve a copy upon the undersigned attorney. . ."If he doesn't respond, it goes on to say that a Default Judgment will be entered against him. It also says he can demand that a lawsuit be filed against him. If the the Plaintiff doesn't file, then the Summons and Complaint will be void. But, the Summons and Complaint don't have numbers, there's no court seal, and they look phoney.
What's going on? How should he handle this?
Thank you.

This summon doesn't sound to be real. There must be a court date and a court seal. You must go to the court county and verify about this summon from Palisades.

seattleskies, may I ask if this account has anything to do with AT&T wireless? There has been number of cases in connection with Palisades and AT&T wireless. Most of them are disputed files.
