I have gotten on of my PDL to actually give me a refund. They left a message and stated they would give me the refund, however, they don't do checks. She stated that if I give them my checking account information, they will deposit it into that account. I am not willing to give out my new checking information, but want the refund. Anyone have any suggestions?

The lender is AIP. I already closed my old account and opened a new one.

Tammy, that is my fear that they will deposit the money and then help themselves to more money.

I am going to see if they can wire money to a Western Union. I just really don't want to open an account just for them since they are the only ones willing to send me a refund.

Maybe this can be an option to look at if the refund amount is a large sum. Before I point it, first figure out if you are willing to do a small expense from your refund amount. Ask them to send you the money through certified check and you will pay their expenses. This way, your bank info will also remain safe.

Or if you decide to use a separate account for them to deposit the money into, see if you bank will give you the option of blocking the debits. My bank did that for me on one of my accounts, they were able to block all debits but allow all the credits to post. The company can deposit the money in, but they won't be able to take it out. Once the money is in the account, you can have your bank remove the block so you can get access to the money.
