We have been receiving phone calls from Interim Cash Limited for the past two weeks after receiving our new phone number. They ask for the same person everytime and I repy everytime"There is no Sharon here. We are the new owners of this phone number. Please do not call us." AND EVERY DAY THEY CALL!!!!! What recourse do we have to rid us of the harassing phone calls? I would prefer not to change our number. Besides, why should I be inconvienced because of this stupid company?

Change the phone number. You said you just got it. It can't be more inconvenient for you to do that, than it is to get the calls every day, and be stressed out by them. Do you know how long you will be stuck in "the system" trying to get recourse from this? People that are owed real $$$ don't get any results. While I can appreciate amy445's reply, I don't think it will help.

Yes, but why should "disgruntled" have to pay to get the number changed? I changed mine in January because we had been getting CA calls and such for the previous owner of the number, who was still giving it out as a current number. It cost me $15 to change our number!

If the calls persist. Advise Interim that you are reporting them to the phone company for phone harrassment if they call once more. If they continue, keep a log of the dates and times of the calls and then contact your telephone service provider and make good on reporting the harrassment. They can check your account and go from there.

Interim are based in Great Britain, but I would think their calls to your line can still be pulled by the phone company.

I worked for the phone company for 25 years, and I agree that the charges should be wavied by the phone company. Be sure to tell them the reason for the number change. And if the rep says no go to their manager. I'm telling you it can be done and the charges can be waived. Just want to clear up a few things also. This is how it is at Verizon. The phone company cannot just open a harrassment case because you call them. The first thing the phone company will do is ask you if you have a police report. If you don't, you will have to get one and call back. Keep in mind the phone company provides all info to the police not to you. You can't initate a case with the phone company and get their assistance without the police involvement.

I tried doing a few searches about this company, and haven't been able to really come up with any help. The BBB list the address below, but no phone number.

Interim Cash Ltd
19 W. 34th Street
New York, NY 10010

How many times has this company called you? Do you have caller ID that has captured their phone number? The next time they call, when they ask for Sharon, ask who's calling? Proceed to tell them that the call is being recorded, and that you have told numerous times that they have the wrong number. Since the harassment is continuing, your next step is to file a report with the authorities. The officer may say since it's an international call center (probably out in Canada) that there isn't much they can do. They still have to file the report.

Also file a complaint with the FCC.

Sorry to hear about your recent troubles. Especially with a new phone line. I had something similar to the situation for about a year. The calls didn't start coming through until 2 weeks after I already had my new number, and just about everyone else had it to. Nine months later I get a call, and explain to them they had the wrong number. Apparently the previous person was still dishing out my number to creditors, as the bill collector said, "thats funny, she just gave me this number last week."

Regards
Mike

Interim Cash Ltd. uses a NY address, but they are actually based in the UK.

Interim Cash, Ltd.
Northway House
1379 High Road
Tottridge and Whetstone, London
N20 9LP
Tel.: 1-877-539-6707

Maybe the above will prove useful if you need to take this matter further as Mikey and "Guest" suggested.
