They're not licensed in Indiana. I live in Indiana and had a loan with them, so looked it up. Are you having problems dealing with them?
Payday Loans
They have been threatening me and saying I need an attorney. I closed my checking account because I couldn't keep up. Made some big mistakes. Do you know anything and can you help?

What type of threats? Charges of fraud and somebody coming to arrest you? Rest assured that is a lie and they are just empty threats that they can NOT act on and they are using it as a scare tactic to take you for more money. I know it sounds intimidating and scary and that is why they do it, to scare you out of your hard earned money. You did the right thing in closing your account to take back control of your finances, this forces them to work with you on your terms and you need to stand up to them and not back down, it can be done. How much was the loan for and how much have you paid them so far (this includes roll over fees and interest) Chances are if you have been paying on this you have paid back the princpal and then some. You can use the template letter on this site, inserting your state pdl laws in it and demand they mark your account paid in full. You should also file a complaint against them with your state's ag office and let them know that you did this. And don't let them tell you that you signed a contract agreeing to follow their state laws, this won't hold up because they have to follow your state's laws.

I appreciate the info. I am new to this site and don't know where to go to get this letter you mention. I do not know how much I have paid and how much I owe. I will request all that information in the morning when I call him back. I was approached by united cash loans two months ago and they threatened me and I paid in full with a money order that day because I was so scared. That was my rent money and I have been fighting to catch up ever since. These loans are truly the worst mistakes I have ever made. If I request information by mail or fax...aren't they required to give it to me. Do I need an attorney?
