I just found out today from T&C that Ten Dollar Payday will accept my payment from them each month but that will not stop them from pursuing any further legal action. T&C informed me of this today after being with them for two months.

The young lady at T&C recommended that I contact Ten Dollar and make payment arrangements because a lady named Ms. Jones told her that they would only accept half one month and half the other month (which the fees are now $660.00.

Ten Dollar has already turned me over to the law office with a man named Jay Rodriguez.

Like I have said, I want to pay them off in full but I don't know what else to do. Any recommendations on how I should handle the situation? Any alternatives? Should I contact Ten Dollar Payday or to the law office? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

How much have you paid so far in interest? PM me and I will send you the address to the FBI in Tulsa. They are investigating them as we speak. They want all documentation from all of us on Rio Resources. Don't let them push you around. THEY ARE IN THE WRONG, NOT YOU!! File with the Attorney General's Office in your State and with the Credit Commissioner in Oklahoma. Send a Cease and Desist Letter to whoever the collector is. I will be happy to help you with writing your letters. Do not let them get by with anything. These people are thieves and we need to get them shut down!!!

I wonder if the Collection Agency ACA Recovery Inc under legal counsel Norman Kalina. I was contacted last night after 9 pm first mistake already contacting the FTC. And I called them back to see what they wanted. I could hear people laughing the back ground and people contacting customers. I don't think it is really a law office and I am checking this information out with the BBB and FTC

Norman Kalina is not a part of this recovery firm, it is a scam...do not pay them anything

I took a payday loan out from ten dollar pay day loans and was unable to pay it back. I was then contacted through mail by "norman kalina's law office" about my debt then the calls started at home at work all the time I said what i could pay and she said they don't take payments it has to be full amount. they threatened to have my license suspended and then threatened garnishment so she said I could pay half one month and half the next. I have not been able to pay anything will they garnish me?

They would have to take you to court but chances are that wont happen because chances are they are not liscensed in your state. They are just trying to intimidate you. She probably isnt even a real lawyer....just the head of a collection agency. From my experience the PDL places only use subprime CA...

missy,

Send them a debt validation letter via certified mail with return receipt requested. This way you will have proof that they received it. You can find a sample letter in the DIY sections of the forum. You can also state not to contact you at home or work regarding this matter. I agree with Leah that it's probably not a lawyer. It's just a threat to make up pay extra money.

You will never receive any proof that you paid them the money. This ipdl does not have a license to operate in any of the states. They have been ordered to cease and desist from loaning to consumers in Oklahoma and all loans were to be forgiven and no collection activity was to happen to those OK consumers. And that is an infamous threat these ipdls use against consumers by telling them they are going to be charged with a crime and arrested. This is NOT true and that is illegal to threaten a consumer with that in order to collect money for a debt. It is called extortion.

I have been contacted by these people. I was willing to give them 100.00 today of the whole 396.00. They would not take it. They said it has to be whole payment. They said if I dont have the money, the attorney will have litigation against me and that it's about to get ugly and garnish my wages. Im in California and I thought you can't have litigation of anything under $5000.00.
