I am from Arkansas and have fallen into the trap of payday loans. All of my loans are from the internet. I am going into debt now because of them. Is there anyone out there who can start me on the right track to alleviate this problem. Please tell me what my options are.

Welcome to the forum! Many of us here are going through the same thing. I have just pm'd you the Arkansas payday loan laws.

The first thing I would recommend is figuring up how much you have paid in finance charges to each payday lender and then look at your state's payday loan laws to see what they allow. Many people find that they are being charged an illegal interest rate for their state, and or that they've have more than paid the loan back.

Can you tell us which lenders you are dealing with? Someone on the forum most likely has dealt with one or more of your lenders and can give you some info on how to deal with them.

You can talk to your bank about blocking all debits to your acct., or closing the acct. and reopening a new one so no further finance charges will come out of the acct. Most people that choose this route then contact the payday lenders and ask to work out payment arrangements. Some will work with you, others are more difficult. This is why finding out if you've overpaid or whether or not you're paying more than your state allows comes in handy, because this can be brought to the attention of the lenders and they are usually more agreeable when you tell them you're filing complaints with the BBB, State Attorney General's Office, etc.
