The Freedom Point/Care-one Credit Counselling

Hi:
Am in need of some debt consolidation and/or settlements - I have a debt of 6500 $ on 3 cards and the interest rates are killing me at the moment. I have fairly decent credit score - but the minimum payments are way too high - and will not make it for me.
My options are the following:
1. go with the freedom point company, which is under care-one credit counselling. they seemed to have a decent plan and their fees were 9$ a month.
2. Hess Kennedy in florida. now this seems a lil dodgy to me - as they said they could settle my debts in 29 months at 2900$, instead of the 6500$ that i owe.
HAs anybody here dealt or are dealing with either of these companies?? Please let me know - as time is ticking for me as far as my credit cards go.

Have you tried registering with this site and take the quote from your counselor? I think Freedom point will be a good option but you should do some more research before signing with the company. Probably, you can do a free sign up here and talk with the counselor. Once you have compared different quotes, you will figure out the best option for you.
