I have been paying for myself since I was 16 years old, constantly working one to three jobs at a time just to pay my tuition. Unfortunately the cost of books and my family's financial needs left me with next to no money at all and I had to take out several credit cards to pay my tuition.

I paid off all of them but one and it has the worst apr ever. Every month I pay at least 75 into it and they take 55 for fees so I can never make headway.
On top of that my car is breaking down and my cat needs $700 worth of vet care for his asthma/infection in his mouth. It seems every time I get even an extra dollar something awful happens and I am left with $15 in my bank account and 3 credit card bills adding up to nearly 200 a month which I can barely provide on the small hours I am getting around my college schedule.

Debt and stress have kept me in college way longer than I should be and I hope maybe getting consolidated will help :(

I am sorry, you are going through rough times. I pray everything gets better for you soon. Have you called your creditors and explain your situation? There may be some programs for people on financial hardship. Try talking to someone in their dept who can frame suitable plans for you.

One counselor will be calling you for the credit counseling. He will also work out your repayments and stay in touch with your creditors until the debts are paid off. Take his budgeting advice. It will be very helpful especially if some saving is to be done.
