Can store front pdls submit electronic ?

Hey folks, I have a question regarding store front pdls. I defaulted on my pdls and put stop payment on the checks. I informed all three places that I did that. 2 out of three are ok and accepted arrangements but did explain that the checks would be deposited (they were and sent back "stop payment"). The 3rd went and electronically deposited my check and because the bank did not recognize the transaction without a check #- they honored it and now my account is in the hole. Can pdls do that? I wrote a check.
Yes. They can do that. More and more retailers are starting
Yes. They can do that.
More and more retailers are starting to do the same thing. I believe Wal-Mart Super Centers first started the idea in the mid 90's. If you were writing a check, they'd run it through, and hand it back to you. On your statement, it'd show electronic draft.
Unforuntately, this is something that can't really be avoided when trying to stop payments on something. However, since they did do an electronic draft, you should request to have the check back.
