Allied Interstate tactics

Recently I had a debt - yes it was a valid one - which I did not at any time try to avoid paying - it was simply that I had suffered some many personal problems one of which was the death of my son. My financial situation was in trouble. I tried to work with American Express and they were totally unwilling to work with me through this very trying time in my life - instead farming the bill out to allied interstate for collection. Allied Interstate representatives made threats and comments of almost every conveivable nature. In order to resolve this and some other debts it was necessary for me to refinance my home which took roughly 45 days to complete. Allied was made aware that this was occuring and took it upon themselves to directly contact and communicate with the broker involved in this transaction and there was information that was provided to me which was clearly a breach of confidentiality and I fully intend on pursuing legal action against Allied Interstate. I plan to ask the attorney general of Ohio as well as the commonwealth where I reside to pursue legal action against them - as well as I am going to be seeking relief through the courts against them. The bill has been paid in full and I was coerced into authorizing them a pay by phone before the funds were available in my checking account and they knew that. I told them clearly that this was being done under duress and it fell on deaf ears by their representatives - a Jon Hannah being one of them, as well as their contact manager with American Express. This has been a nightmare which I cannot and will not let go of until Allied Interstate is rightfully punished - both civil and criminal for their actions.
