I been a single parent for 10yrs.rasing 5children my husband been locked up for other reason no child support from him

I can certainly sympathize with being a single parent. I also have five children who I also have raised on my own, without child support for any of them. It's hard, especially with working and trying to be both parents. You just do the best you can. In a way, not having a lot of money has taught my children to be thrifty spenders and to appreciate what they do get. I remember one year, I couldn't afford to buy any gifts at all. My sister and I went through old clothes and cut the material. I went to the store and bought a bag of navy beans. We made bean bags. On TV, I saw where someone had made like a "bean toss" (a cat) out of a cardboard box. All it took was the box, some scissors and a marker. That actually was one of our fondest Christmas's. If you put your mind to it, you can do the same, if you don't have funds for Christmas.

You can apply at a Santa's Fund (if they have it in your area) to get a toy for your children. There is also Toys for Tots. Look into Salvation Army.
Also there are thrift shops that have toys are
very low cost.

About food, you could check into Second Harvest that
helps families to get what they need.

Also contact your city offices and ask if they have holiday food giveaways. Churches will usually have information on such services also. -----I have had very meager Christmases and very nice Christmases. It becomes what YOU make it out to be. Sometimes giving even what little you have to someone even less fortunate than you makes for a great Christmas. Your children will then learn that giving of themselves is the best gift. But, I do understand that kids being kids want presents. Thats why I say get connected with local church groups or charities.
