i am a graduate student looking to consolidate all creditcard debt aquired from schoolilng for the last 6 years into one payment. school loans will not be included.

A counselor will call you to plan your repayments and negotiate with the creditors. How much is the total debt you have with the credit companies? Have you called them and proposed any payment plan?
