Once I close an account, how long does it take for my credit report to reflect that it was closed? Can you confirm that closing an account helps to raise your credit score as long as you are not simulataneously opening accounts and leave the closed account in good standing?

I know that if you are having a short credit history or less number of accounts, the credit score gets lowered when a new account is opened as there is no proven track record of it.

The creditor may take 45 to 60 days to report the account closed with the bureaus. It is important that the account stays in good standing before closed.
