When my ex-husband and I first got married, we were young and broke. So my mother helped us by getting a two phone deal but it is in her name (totally). My name is no where on it. But after the first of the year AT&T is taking her to court, I am resposible for the 1,200.00 . Can I declair this in the debt consolidation?
Thanx in advance!!

twylite - welcome to the forums!

Since you have registered with the site, a consultant from your area will be contacting you soon to discuss your situation.

Can you give us a little clarification on your situation? Your mother's name is on the bill - so is it your mother that is making you responsible for the bill? Did you not pay the bill at all? Please don't take offense to my questions, I'm just trying to get a handle on where you stand, financially.

If your mother's name is on the bill, she is the one responsible for it, legally speaking. I don't think a debt consolidation company will allow you to include a debt in your plan that is in someone else's name. I would contact the phone company and see if you can get this transferred into your own name if you wish to include it in your debt consolidation.
