My last name will change due to divorce in which the judge granted me a last name change. I was married for 32 years. I need to change my name soon due to an ESOP retirement document being filed. Should I change it with the credit card companies before I pursue debt consolidation or after I consolidate my debt?

You could do it prior to debt consolidation. I've been through that same thing, and I think it will help avoid confusion, plus it doesn't take that long for the companies to change it on their records.
