This is a copy of one of the letters I sent to GFSIL. You can redo it to reflect your own personal information as well as that of the company you are dealing with...

Quote:
To Whom It May Concern:

This is the second notice I am mailing to your company. The first notice was sent certified mail return receipt requested on November 15, 2006 and was received by an associate in your company on November 20, 2006. I have received numerous harassing phone calls from various employees of your company almost on a daily basis regarding an account I believe to be paid off. I have informed these employees that I am unable to receive personal phone calls at my job and one person even threatened to talk to my supervisor. This is prohibited under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act of the United States and a complaint has been filed with the Federal Trade Commission and the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Illinois.

As of October 6, 2006, I do not authorize GFSIL nor any representative, parent company, affiliate, or subsidiary of GFSIL, to withdraw any funds from the checking account under the name of XXXXX, acct #XXXXXXXXXXX), located at XXX. Also, I hereby revoke the Wage Assignment Authorization now in effect with GFSIL.

According to my records, the principal balance of the loan in the amount of $200.00 taken out on August 23, 2006 was paid off on October 6, 2006. If this information is incorrect please mail me a copy of the signed contract with your company detailing the terms of the loan as well as an itemized statement of account.

If you need to discuss this matter please do so via mail. I am unable to receive personal phone calls at work.

Sincerely,

Have they stopped? I have a loan with them too and the more I think about it the more I realize that I think I have way overpaid them. My loan is scheduled to end in May, but from what I am reading from everyone, I have long since paid it back and then some. I am going to call them tomorrow and ask for a statement of account. Unfortunately, my bank will not help on these things other than to advise that I close the account and open another one. I have had to do that twice already this year due to fraud.

Better yet, when you send the second letter, include the name of the person who signed for it.

Well, I called them on Wed., Thurs., and Friday. When I asked for a statement of account they told me I was in collection. I said, gee that's strange since you have been taking out of my account since at least July/Aug. They said that for a payment of 395.00 this week they would call it even. I laughed and said for a payment of nothing until you give me a statement of account. Anyway, they swore it would be sent to me via email by Friday. It is now Sunday, 1:10am and nothing. Just to make sure, I went to the bank today. There is a form called a permanent revocation of an ACH withdrawal. I filled it out. Seems the banks are tired of opening and closing accounts, so they created a venue in which to revoke these automatice withdrawals.
If I want to send a letter to GFSIL telling them that as far as I am concerned, my account is paid in full and then some, does anyone have the address? :D

Well, I went to the bank. Signed a revocation order for future and all transactions from them. Guess what? They put it through anyway and the bank informed me that since it is a web transaction, revocations do not work! So, now I had to fill out another form for a one time revocation, which will cost me 25.00 and I have to close my account and reopen a new one inorder to prevent them from taking unauthorized withdrawals even though they do not have a signed document from me. I figured out that I have paid close to 1200.00 for a 200.00 loan! I will never do this again! I'd rather have my electric shut off! :(

I have not received a reply to my email from them, nor have they called my place of business, my home, or my cell, since I told them that I felt my loan was paid in full because I have given them well over 1100.00 for a 200.00 loan. And that I would not give them any more until they could send me an accounting, which of course, we know they won't and can't. I did close my account, because they have tried to withdraw on it 3 times.
