When does the SOL start?

Hey. I have a debt that was charged of on 3/31/2004. My credit report shows the last activity on the account as 12/2003. I have since made payments to a collection agency, but not to the original creditor. In California the SOL is 4 years. Does that mean from the charge off date, last payment to original creditor, or the last payment to the collection agency? Please help.

Hi Mickeyhatt1 :D I believe the SOL would start from the last time you made a payment from the charge off date, but I could be wrong. I have things on my credit report that update everytime a payment is made. If I am wrong, someone will come along and correct me.
