A payday loan company is telling me i will be arrested for a bad check charge.

Hi Theresa -

If you can provide us the following info, we can help you out:

-state you live in
-name of the payday lender
-whether the loan was obtained online or at a storefront lender
-amount of your original loan
-amount you have paid so far

Please rest assured, if this is an internet lender, chances are very good that they are merely threatening you to try and get you to pay up. There's also a good chance you may have already overpaid them, especially if they are unlicensed in your state, or if payday loans are prohbited in your state. That's why we need the info I listed above, so we can help you through this.

If you can post that info, we'll work on giving you some advice on this! :D

The loan was obtained @ a storefront lender named first choice cash advance for $300. A total of $375 is due with $o paid on the balance. I have asked them for 3 weeks to pay in full, but they will not wait. I took the loan out counting on my child support to pay it back. My support stopped suddenly then! Thanks for any advice!

What state are you in? Storefronts are typically licensed in the states they operate. I would contact this storefront and explain your situation and try to arrangement a payment plan to payback the loanl Usually storefronts will seek civil judgement on defaults and no communication or payment plan is arranaged. Just explain the situation, they may surprise you and work with your.

I have a friend in SC who has 15 payday loans spread out between 7 storefront payday loan conmpanies. He is on disability and cannot keep up the payments on these loans. What will these companies do if (when) he stops paying them? Will they deposit the checks and charge him with bad check charges? What should he do?
