Will a debt company still be able to help me???? So scared. How likely is it that collection agencies or th eoriginal creditors will work with a dmp company?? The total debt should only be around $20k or a little more but I find they have added more to th etotals.
Can I ever get out of this mess w/o getting in trouble? I have money to pay monthly and I want to start soon.

Debt counselors are trained professionals. They can negotiate with the creditors / collection agencies at a lower pay off. The interest rate will be slashed down from what you are paying at present. Besides, most fees can also be taken off from the total amount.
Discuss about your accounts with the counselor and figure out your repayment options. Finalize the suitable plan offered to you and get the contract in writing from the company. Your debts will start getting paid and you will receive monthly statements from the company showing the latest standing of your account.
