What you need to do is consolidate your debt for a lower interest rate and payments that are afforable. Have you contacted each of your creditors, explained the situation and ask them for payment options and a reduce or eliminate your interest completely? What kind of debts are these? Which companies?

You just may need to work out and arrangement with them and you may want to try the Do It Yourself forum located on the right hand side link. They have sample letters that you can use to send out.

Which program did you sign up? In debt consolidation, the consultant negotiates with the creditors and waives off most of the past late payment fees. He also convinces the creditor not to add further fees and finances charges on the account.

If you have signed for debt settlement, fees will continue to add until the consultant has arranged a full settlement with your creditor.
