my father used my social security number before i was 18 and he died before i turned 18 so when i was able to accrue credit i was already in debt some hospital bill's and a few utility bill's and here i am


By law, no one should use someone else's SSN#. It is illegal to alter, buy or sell social security cards. A person caught doing such activities is subjected to stiff fines and/or imprisonment. I am sorry that your father didn't realize that you are going to face problems because of his mistakes.

Report this activity to the Social Security. You can also check your earning record by calling 1-800-772-1213 and asking for a Personal Earnings and Benefit Estimate Statement. They will help in correcting your records.
