Well, I had enrolled with Ballys in 2001 and apparently I didn't properly end my contract. It went from a little over $2,000.00 to over a whopping $4,000.00 dollars. They took me to court and won so what can I do? I am a single mom who just got a full time job. They will be taking about $40 to $60 from my check every week and I want to get rid of them. Does anyone think they will lower it back to the starting amount if I pay immediatly? I will be getting my tax refund in the next 2 weeks so it won't be a problem. But what's the best way to do it? Thanks. BY THE WAY the collection agency is asset acceptance llc.

 Due to the fact that they have won in court, options on this are limited. With judgement they can seize assets, garnish wages or bank accounts, and sometimes even file liens on property.

If you went to court and lost on merits of case, jugement will be valid. In some states you can file a motion that explains to court that garnihment is hurting your ability to provide basic needs for your family. You would need proof of this.
The only other option I can think of right now is to get a complete copy of court file and find an attorney to review it.
