It depends on the company, the state you live in, and their licensing status. If you don't mind, please post what state you live in, what companies you have pdl's with, how much you borrowed, and how much you paid back so far. Also post if they are internet pdl's or storefront. We can give you better advice with more information.

If everything is right about the company, the cost of the loan is also considered before taking anyone to the court. The attorney fees and the court costs are very expensive and they will like to recover that amount. If their is no way to recover the money from the borrower, their filing the case against the borrower will be a total loss.

If you've given your phone number when you registered, a credit counselor should be contacting you soon. You are under no obligation to use the company that will contact you-you're free to find the company of your choice. Whoever you go with, make sure you do proper research on them, to verify they are legit and you aren't likely to be ripped off.
If you posted just to ask for a payment arrangement, this is a forum in which members discuss their problems with debt and debt collectors. This board has not provided a loan or other business service (a post asking for a payment arrangement here is meaningless). If there is a specific company you owe money to, you can post it, and we may help you find their contact info. Otherwise, feel free to post a new thread under the "My Story" forum, the "Dealing with collection agencies" forum, or whatever other ones describe your situation.
