You may take a free counseling from one of the consultant referred by this website. He will first analyze how much you will afford each month after looking into your expenses and income. You will be given some repayment plans before deciding the best one. The program will be quoted with lower interest rates and after waiving the late fees.

Stick to the plan after enrolling in the program. The creditors will offer you some benefits in the program. If you miss any of the payments, they will withdraw their benefits offered in your repayment course.

When you are contacted, you are not obligated to sign up with that company. Make sure you thoroughly research whatever credit counselor you intend to enroll with, it is an industry with a lot of shady characters. Among other resources, you can use the google search built into this website to see if anyone has posted their experiences with a particular company.
