I found the following at a website called getoutofpaydayloandebt:

What exactly does this mean? The loans I have out are only for 2 weeks. I'm confused. :?

I took a quick look at the site and it looks like a site someon has put together warning people about payday loans and how easily you can get ripped off. Was this quote you posted above about help this site would give you? How many PDLs do you have and are they online or storefront?

I currently have 8, and they are all storefronts. That site presented itself as a "help site", I found it during a Google search. I'm not in default yet, and have never defaulted on them in the 2 years I've been using them because of bad credit decisions, identity theft, illness, and various car trouble so that I could stay current w/my bills. I'm worried about going into default now, and if I could face jail time. More financial trouble is causing me to worry about default, and I so want out of this PDLs nightmare so that I can get my credit back on track. I'm behind in all my bills now.

If they are storefront then they are legal in your state. The only thing I can suggest is to contact them and let them know of your situation. Some may have to deposit your check and you go into default but then you can make arrangements with them to pay them back. But DO call them and tell them what is going on and what might happen. They may be more understanding than you think. It worked for me but I am in WI.

Hi again. I was hoping to find some answers/advice today about my pdl storefronts situation, but I haven't seen anything that could help me. Could someone direct me to the OH spot on the board where I can read about the laws for OH PDLs, if criminal action can happen, and if storefronts are willing to work out repayment plans when someone defaults? I'm sorry to keep asking for help, but I'm really in need of some advice and help. I didn't set out to make the mistake I've made with PDLs, it was not intentional. But I really have no idea what I might be facing regarding this matter. Please, someone, help me. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
