I had one payday loan that continued to debit my checking account for 13 months. Needless to say, I paid way more than I owed !! Is it possible to reclaim that overpayment?

I did contact them and they attempted to make me pay the orginal loan before considering the account closed. I told them no way !! You have more than enough of my money already! They marked the loan paid in full on 2/20/07. So one down and more to go !

Thanks.

First, Congratulations onf getting a PDL marked PIF. That is one less you have to worry about. I have found with my experience that not all are going to give you a refund. I received one refund from one of the companies I had and none from the others. I have requested refunds from those that should have to reimburse me for over payment, but only one did. I have a company that should owe me about $1000, but the odds of me getting it back are slim to none. Sometimes it might just take it as an expensive lesson and be thankful that the money is not coming out of your account any more. Unfortunatley that is what I seem to be having to do, and it stinks, but... Keep working on getting those PDLS gone and I wish you luck in receiving the refunds. I hope that you get them.

Thanks ! I kinda figured that I would probably have to consider the overpayment as a 'donation' !! I really didn't realize that I had been paying on that particular PDL for so long, so it was a shock when I started to do the math and found out that I overpaid by almost $2000.

Hard lesson learned. It won't happen again!

Good luck with your refund attempts also !

Same here. We have already said that no matter what, we are never going to take out a PDL again! It has caused us more problems then it has helped us. Now we are fighting to keep our house because of the money that was taken out of our account! Right now we seem to be just fighting one, so far and that is Route66. We have not heard anything from the others, so I guess that is good. Hang in there though and just keep plugging away at getting the rest of yours marked PIF!
