These are the ones I've put with T&C. Thanks!

I have an idea. Why not you give a call to T&C and ask them for their past negotiations with the loan places you are dealing with. You will come to know about their success stories and feel like being in trusted hands.

I don't know about those companies. But I know that Ten Dollar Payday Loan (Rio Resources) wanted me to work with them personally and I tried to put them on T&C.
I mean, if T&C doesn't work with a company, it shouldn't be a problem. You can probably work out a payment solution with the company yourself.

Checksmart will probably be aggressive. Your in OH, right? Well, I'm in OH, and this company can be ruthless. I'm not trying to scare you, but I'm just speaking of an experience I had with one of their collectors at their corporate office.

Yes, I'm in Ohio. Is it possible that CheckSmart and Cashland might not work with T&C? When I asked T&C if they could work with all my plds, they said they could, but I won't really know for sure until I hear whether the proposals have been accepted by the pdls.
Brownsugar, just how aggressive was CheckSmart with you? Did they threaten you a lot?

Yep, this collector said he was coming to my job to the payroll dept. After so many calls, it wasn't about collecting the debt, he was just harassing me.

Brownsugar, did he bother you even after you put the debt in a dmp? I've put mine with T&C, so I'm hoping there won't be much harassment from CheckSmart. It's not like I'm not trying to pay back the loan.

I am assuming that all of my PDLs worked with T&C, no one has contacted me since. I guess I am lucky. I had a storefront Check into Cash and haven't had any problems. Maybe they are running differently than online.

Luckily I am an HR rep and was able to nip that one in the bud immediately. I never worked with a consolidation company, so I don't know how they'll be in regards to that, but I remember them hanging up on me several times, and leaving rude messages on my answering machine. Basically they were a fat pain in the a$$.

T&C told me that they can work with these companies with a re-payment plan, and with Ohio law stating that customers are entitled to a re-payment plan, I'm hoping each of my pdls will work with T&C. I wish I could get more concrete confirmation, but I guess I'll just have to wait it out and see. I wish I wasn't such a worrier. :(

I have T&C's number but I'm trying to negotiate on my own first.
Buckeye Checksmart-Corporate called me 152,000 times a day. The manager at the local office said he'd hold my check for 4 weeks if I pay the interest and returned check fee. Then I'll have to pay off the principal. I agreed and corporate quit calling. I'm hoping to get it paid off.
Check-n-go: Let me pay it off in 2 payments
Advance America: Held my check for 30 days. I'm just going to pay that one down.
I still have to call ACE Cash Express and Checkmate. I have no idea what to expect.
This is exhausting!!!
I think I may call T&C if my lenders give me too hard of a time.

Did T&C work with CheckSmart? Checksmart tells me they do not work with them and have sent my work a verification of employment request. Checksmart Corp office has threaten me with court now. I hate not knowing for sure of whats happening. One says they do work with them and the other is saying no we don't.
Debtors
I work for Check$mart and one of my job functions is to call people who brake there contract and bounce a check on us. Everyone whines how harsh we are collecting but noone wants to take resposibility for their own finances. Don't you know it's illegal to have more than 1 payday loan at a time, don't you know that a payday loan is just a "help" though a small emergency? I see customers extend and extend their loans time and time again until they exsaust themselves and the check goes to the bank and bounces. Atleast with my company, there are no hidden fees or conditions in the contract...you loan, you pay back on your next payday. We are not in the business of giving away money and because of your inability to manage your own money and cause my company a loss...we HAVE to charge a large fee. I would wager that most our debtors do not use a PAYDAY LOAN as it is intended (a means of getting you to your next payday when small emergencies creep up) They use it as a Revolving Credit Line. And that my friends is what is going to get you introuble. Then you complain like its our fault we gave you the loan and how dare we require you to pay us back! So many times customers tell me "I can't pay it back at this time...I will pay when and how much I am able when I am able." I would love to hear what your mortgagor would say if you used that line to not pay your house or rent payment! You signed a contract, you knew the due dates and the amount due well in advance of you taking the money. NOW tighten your belt and pay back what you owe in full. I am paid from the profits of my company accepting a partual payment is like accepting a partual paycheck and none of us wants THAT!

I think I know a member who may have dealt with this particular collector for CheckSmart. Seriously. What this person is saying and the attitude in the post rings familiar. Would like to state for the record, I have never had a loan with Checksmart, so please don't try to say that I must owe you idiots some money.
rebuttal
I don't remember saying " Steelers1" owes us money? Nor am I a collector for my company. I am simply a store manager and one of my functions as a manager is to do collections for the 1st 14 days the loan defaults after that time it goes to the corp. collections department. Since you are not familar with the way we operate please let me educate you. As a store manager I give loans to individuals who by their own free will walk into my store and WANT a loan. During the transaction we discuss many different things:
1. How much of a loan they qualify for
2. What the fees (interest is)
3. Method of paying or extending the loan
4. When the loan is due
The customer never leaves my store or accepts our money unless they are fully aware of all these facts. Lets say they take a $200.00 loan. They write a check for $230.00, we ask them when their next payday is, we make the loan mature on that day or the day after if its more convienate. The customer SIGNS a contract stating the conditions inwhich we verbally discussed during the transaction. Now I won't speculate (as you did with me) or call you names (as you did with me) what happens between the time you accepted our money and our conditions and the time the loan came due but I will speculate that if you bought a car and it had a warrenty you would expect the dealer to live up to the contract it would be unaccptable for any reason the dealer to tell you I can fix it when I can and it may not be fixed right. If you went to a resturant and the food was prepared incorrectly you would not be told to eat it anyway. You expect to get what you paid for and what was agreed to. Nobody twist anyones arm to get a loan and with our company every loan comes with a fully disclosed contract that customer signs and agrees to. If you break the contract you are simply WRONG I don't understand why some debtors feel our company is a charity organization instead of a for profit company. If a client can't pay back the 200.00 they borrowed maybe they shouldn't have borrowed it in the 1st place. I speculate that the debtors that are having the worst problems are the ones who loan from me and then go down the street and loan from another company and then from another until there is just no possable way they can pay back all the money they have loaned. These people are breaking the law when they do this and most already know when they sign the contract they can never pay this off. Yet YOU, Steelers1, seem to find the fault with US and not with the consumer. Your logic seems to say "McDonalds made me fat, the song made me commit a crime, Smoking made me sick... we are all just innocent victims with no free will victimized with loans, music, food and addictions. Steelers1 please take note "The 1st step in beating an addiction is to admit YOU have a problem!"

Oh, please, I did not speculate about you, give me a break. It was an "in general",any time somebody here makes a rebuttal another comes on whether it be the posts being responsed to and the person accusses the other of referring to me. Nice of you to assume I was referring to you though, although I wasn't, it was for anyone getting the idea of saying that.

Checksmart Employee--
What we are doing on these forums is to educate consumers so they will never walk into your office, and you will not get paid from your precious profits and ultimately you will not have a job since your doors would be closed. Then you would have to get a real job where you wouldn't have the luxury of insulting your customers, like you've done today. And trust me, I'm sure you've made plenty of money off the customers you have loaned to and didn't check too hard to see if they had more than one loan out. They all represented dollar signs to you, right?
To kscornell
kscornell, I will not second guess you or even ague with your "I've been victimized" logic I will however give you some facts.
I wish as well that noone had to take a payday loan and that Americans could find a job that pays a livable wage and that jobs wouldnt be shipped over seas and givin to people who will be satisfied with pennies. However, this is not the case and more and more Americans find themselves living from paycheck to paycheck. Thats just a cold hard fact. Now, when a small emergency comes up and you need an extra 200.00 or 300.00 dollars who is going to give that to you ...THE BANK? Your family? Your friends? NO because if they did...you wouldn't have a need for a payday loan. I educate my customers that a payday loan is JUST a quick way to get money for a minor emergency and should be paid off when they get paid. I never loan them more than what thier paycheck is so the payback should be somewhat comfortable for them. THIS is what a payday loan is REALLY for. Another reason my clients take a loan is because my fees are smaller than bank NSF fees. So they take a loan to put in the bank so when their checks are presented they will clear. When they get paid they return the money to me plus the fee and I dont see them again until they need my service. These are legitimate reasons to take a payday loan. With every good service there is always a bad side...I love Las Vegas but I don't gamble my mortgage, I love McDonalds but its NOT on my food pyrimid, I love watchin pretty girls but I would never cheat on my wife. You see everything can be abused. I do have customers who abuse payday loans. They getr one and they continually extend it. When they need more money they go and get another payday loan (which is illegal). There is NO national data base that will tell me or anyone else how many loans someone has. The contract the customer signs states clearly that they do not have any other loan out. As with any law IGNORANCE of the law is NOT an excuse for braking the law. When all is said and done they find themselves HOPELESSLY in debt and end up HERE to say OH POOR ME...look what this industry has done to me! You are all victims of YOURSELVES! Now...Im not saying that you don't need help getting out of the slump you put yourself into...I AM saying that it's time to take responsibility for what you did. If you are less than 500.00 in debt with these companies more than likely they will not do anything to you and after a while will work with you to pay off the loan. If you have multable loans out at many companies and you default on them...You broke the law and can be sued. Yes... my customers ARE dollar signs...its called capitalizim .. I don't recall ever going oout to eat and the establishment not servicing me cause I was too fat, Or buying shoes and told NO..you have way to many shoes as is. Or going to see a movie and being denied a ticket to a really bad show. I am NOT in business to be a moral leader, nor is the movie theater, resturant, or shoe store. Now not every retail establishment does business above board and ethically...I do understand this. Check$mart belongs to the CFSA and we abid by the ethics set forth. Our terms and conditions are written on the contract, a contract can be resended before 24 hours of the loan, the prices of the loan are posted in each store and the terms are explained to each new customer. Maybe if you educate your posters on how to use credit and use a PAYDAY loan as a last resort and never take more than 1 at a time and ALWAYS pay it in full on your payday...people would use credit as it was intended..NOT just so they can have extra cash in their pocket. My job is to give people money if they qualify...NOT to ask them or tell them what they can or can not do with it!

Wow, CS Employee, the truth hurts, doesn't it? You have no database? Come on now, what about Teletrak? You're telling me that you don't check Teletrak? I find that very hard to believe. And why would you need a national database to begin with? Are you telling me that people are going from state-to-state for the honor of getting a PDL with the likes of you?
Once again, hard to believe.
You know what I think? I'll say it again, you don't check because you're making big bucks on the outrageous interest fees you are charging these consumers. As I recall, Al Capone and other loan sharks did the same thing in the '30's And how do you treat customers who have paid off the original loan several times over through fees? No problem, right? You just smile and reloan! Yeah, you're providing a service all right. One that we definately don't need!
So you know you have a bad product that hurts people. All I can ask you is how do you sleep at night?
please help me
i am so overloaded my check was $1200 and after the loans came out of my acct. it was $26 and i don't know what to do. I'm in california and never used a pdm before. Is this expensive to do? Does it work? Is it safe? Will it destroy my credibility with the PDLs? So many concerns, i worry worry worry
