Okay, I think I have become an addict to reading the laws on PDLs, etc. This is all I have done for the past 4 days, lol.

Anyway, I am about to close my checking account, so that nobody but myself will have access to my account number in the future. In preparing for this so that I can let the bank know of which RECENT debits to my account are fradulent ACH debits, I decided to go through all my bank statements since January '06. I'm in total amazement as to how many loans I have taken. Wanna guess? 29? Good guess...how did you know?? I can NOT believe I did that!!! I was making real good money, too. (By the way, these are 29 up to date, not anywhere close to all at once. I would pay them in full then take new ones.) I guess it wasn't enough for my excessive spending habits after I moved last year. I have paid back 25 of the 29...as in they are PIF in the lenders eyes, after all the rollovers and excessive finance charges. Anyway, to get to the point, what I am doing is going back and finding out what date the loan originated and the total amount of the loan...then, I am finding each date I made a payment to the lender and how much...then finding out the total amount they were paid...over*cough* So far, I am only on number 9. Out of the 9 I have calculated, on 2 of them I paid $965(x2) before they were PIF in the lender's eyes. On the other 7, most of them were legally (in the state of AZ, legally) overpaid, which none of this is legal as AZ does NOT license internet payday companies. I contacted a few law firms yesterday to have someone contact me back today to find out if anyone in their firm deals with or can deal with fighting these "legal" overpayments. I have "legally" paid these loans in full and well over what they companies "legally" deserve. I am fine with paying these companies what they "legally" deserve (HAD THEY BEEN LICENSED TO OPERATE HERE), because I do have morals, and I refuse to take a loan and not pay it (ALTHOUGH AZ LEGISLATION STATES THAT IF THEY ARE NOT LICENSED HERE THE LOAN IS VOID), but after reading the laws I am not okay with paying the excessive fees that I was charged. There are 20 more I have to go through, but already I can see how much in refunds I rightfully deserve. That is why I would like to hire an attorney to draft out letters to these companies requesting refunds or start a lawsuit. I wrote all this because I wanted your thoughts/opinions on how you think this would go??
