Divorce with lots of credit card bills that are getting too high to pay. need help!

I would suggest you talk to an attorney as far as the credit card debt goes. If the divorce has not been finalized, I think you will have a better shot at getting the debt divided up. Don't do what I did, which was take everything that was primarily in my name, which it turned out was 90% of the credit cards. My ex ran them all up to the limits and then took his name off of them. He was listed as an authorized user on them. He did this before I even knew we were going to separate and divorce. Talk to your attorney and see what can be done. If it turns out that you are responsible for them, try to work our arrangment with them. The credit card companies may want to see a copy of the divorce decree where it states you are responsible for the debts. If all else fails, you may have to file bankruptcy, which is what I had to do because, against protest, but I had to take care of the kids and myself and there just wasn't enough money to go around. I would suggest using this as a last resort, but if all else fails... Whatever you do, stay away from payday loans! They are just a temporary fix and you will end up worse off than you are now. Do talk to your attorney first.
