I havn't seen any recent postings about gfs on here...is anyone still dealing with them because i am and its not pleasant

i am from indiana...i have read a lot of the forums about gfs on here and even cashtodaylimited(one of many of their former aliases. anyway i have pd over $300 on my $225 loan(which im pretty sure meets my states requirements on pdl's). also, i believe in indiana not only are internet pdl's illegal, but verbal agreements are non-binding. what does this mean to a company operating out of the uk?

they havn't called my work since i got "jason" on recording saying he would block my work number...it was funny the first call he said "we will continue to call until your account is pd" and then when i called back 30 mins later, he said "you never formally asked for your work number to be blocked." i havnt received a call at my work yet but im worried they will still call. I spoke to some guy I could barely understand yesterday in whatever department is after collections and he would not shut up. I told him my lawyer is looking into everything and I was not going to do anything until I heard back from him and he just kept saying this is unacceptable and would not quit talking. I finally had to hang up on him and he called back immediately two more times. Any advice?
-Finally, does anyone know for sure if they are bound by the fdcpa?

They will call eventually....Gile your complaint with your AG that finally got them off my back/ fdcpa only applies to third party collectors...My best advice to you is too never take their calls, file a complaint with the AG and the FTC, send them a letter stating that you revoke your wage assignment and their ability to take money out of your bank account, notify your payroll dept that this company may try to send in papers to take your check and if they do so they are doing it fraudulantly! They give up after a couple of months....They will threaten you with everything under the sun-do not fall for their threats

They are bound by all of the laws, the just choose to ingnore them. Go to Homeland Security, find the link to ICE and register acomplaint with them regardng cyber crimes. Also file complaints with the AG in your state, the FTC and the banking commission in your state. When complaining to all of these agencies make sure that you cc gfsl knows who you are complaining to and when you are complaining.

I am dealing with GFSIL. I have paid more than what is legally required by the state of California. They call me at work and on my cell phone. I let all the calls go to voicemail. I refuse to argue with them over the phone when they will not listen and will not negotiate. I do send them an email once or twice a week reiterating that I have paid the account and that they need to mark it paid in full. Even though I know from postings at this site, that will probably never happen.

I am dealing with them as well. They are complete scam artists! I have more than paid off the measly $200.00 that I borrowed from them. I spoke to them last week regarding $85 that they took out of my account. They said that they were placing my account on "Inactive" and that no more money would be withdrawn. Well guess what? I check my account today and they have taken out an additional $130.00! I called them and explained and they said that someone spoke to me on 4/13 and that I gave authorization for them to take out this money. I NEVER DID!! WHat are my options at this point? I have other payday loans that I am trying to pay off and I don't need this extra money taken out for something that I paid off months ago! I live in FLorida.

they called again today so i called them back on my lunch break...he asked if i was calling to pay the now $350 i owe so i said no...he asked if i was calling to say i would authorize the $65 to come out of my account on pay day and i said no. i let him know that i filed complaints with the bbb, ag, ftc, & ice and he just ignored me and kept saying they were going to take $65 out of my acct on pay day...i just said have a good day and hung up...i already have a new account and that ones closed so i suppose it's not going to do them much good...

It's good that you have closed your account. Just be prepared for their calls to increase and their demeaner to get nastier. However, they don't have a leg to stand on...so, just keep doing what you have and don't let them bother you. As I said earlier, I don't answer or return their calls. I don't give them a chance to irritate me. I respond solely through email.
