Can I ask what you had the judgements for?

There is one in my husband's and my name both that a collection agency filed against us. They were for about $700 worth of medical bills. They took us to court. Unfortunately, we did not go, which we should have. They got a default judgement against us. We have been paying them $50 a month for about two years and we only owe them like $100 more. I called the lawyer that represented the firm before they garnished wages and made payment arrangements for this with them. The other one is just in my husband's name. It was for a Lowe's credit card that we were not able to pay. That one is for $1900. Same thing, default judgement. We are paying Javitch, Block, and Rathbone $50 a month for that until it is paid off. I also had one before for a car I had that was repossessed but I got that taken off in my chapter 7 bankruptcy in 2003.

No, but I am getting close to it!!! I owe Cashland and am going to file Chapter 13 bankruptcy soon...hopefully Cashland does not take me to court before that. I know that here where I live, the storefronts do take people to court and get judgements against them. I know this because I look at the city's municipal court website every morning. (I admit it-I am nosy...plus I like to see what companies are taking people to court!) Are you afraid one of these places is going to file a judgement against you? They have to take you to court first.
