Does anyone know that if you have direct deposit done on a prepaid visa, (Netspend lets you do this) if a collector can zap the account like a checking account. I had to close my checking because of Geneva Roth doing ACH debits i didnt authorize and I am afraid this can happen with the prepaid visa. Any Advise

Tina - I believe you may have posted this question before, correct? And received answers? Just curious if this is the same person posting again, since the question is identical.

Anyway....

you can open a prepaid credit card account with Greendot or any other prepaid card, and Geneva Roth should not be able to get to it. I can't guarantee that, but if you don't give them the account number, they shouldn't be able to debit it.

However - keep in mind, this is YOUR account - YOU have control over it. If you open any bank account and any company starts debiting it without your authorization, you need to talk to the bank's branch manager where you opened the account and ask them the best way to block those debits.
