I've tried to respond t "past a reply and quick reply" but each time it says the user name is already taken and won't submit. It says that no matter what name I put in, so I onlu kmow how rt o resoind this way. I am sorry.
I posted my problem a few days ago. Soaplady responded. Basically, there is no good solution for me. If I apply for a direct loan consolidation , and apply for payment based on income, I have to give the CA access to my income tax records. So far I haven't been able to find out how many years back they want to go. The CA has already threatened to convince the irs to audit me, so why would I want to give them this info. The CA (AI) guy told me that with an irs audit he would make sure they find something to jack me up for. He told me the only thing they will sign off on is full payment or the rehab program.

On student loan matters, Soaplady is the expert. Trust her.

On the CA threatening you with an IRS audit, that's way outta line. Especially that bit about making sure they find something to get you for. Sorry, mate, but that sounds plain malicious to me. It's definitely an 1, although I'm not entirely certain if FDCPA applies to student loan collections. I can't think of any reason it wouldn't, but still.... Document the threat as well as you can. In your position, I'd be wanting to speak to somebody at the DOE about the CA's actions. Run it past Soaplady again. She'll have other ideas that will likely help you.
