I currently have 31K in credit card debit and have made all payments on-time. However, due to the current economic conditions, I no longer have the resources to continue these payments. What are the pros and cons of using a creit consolidation program vs. trying to negotiate myself?

Any feedback regarding creditsolutions.com?

Any way of accomplishing this without damaging credit?

Has anyone had any experiance with reducing their mortgage when in an upside down situation?

Any feedback regarding creditsolutions.com? They have a horrible reputation. They have an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB. Plus they have a class action lawsuit against them from Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro LLP. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE SCUM BAGS.

debt settlement is going to hurt your credit. Unfortunately there is no way around it. However since you mentioned you are overextended your bills are either already delinquent or about to be anyways so your credit will be hurt anyways. Just be sure when considering a debt settlement company to check them out with the BBB to make sure they have a solid track record. Or you do have the option of settling the debt on your own if you have the time to do the dirty work. :)
