how can I stop cmg group from debiting my checking account? i have pais them 1115.00 so far on a $300 loan.

the only true way is to close your checking account and open a new one.cmg is not licensed in illinois therefore is illegal.i would close the account.then send letters demanding a refund.you have so overpaid on this.

the only legal pdl is paydayone that's it.the others are illegal and you onlyowe the principle borrowed nothing more.i would send ms. madigan(she's the illmois AG some complaints on all the illegal loans you have.your current bank account is closed right?then you can work out arrangements with paydayone.the others you can pay at your leisure.they will probably put up a fight at first, but know they can't do anything but call and threaten stupidly.being in illinois i can attest to that.keep us posted.

We recently moved and HAD to change our phone number. Unluckily, we inherited a phone number that used to belong to someone (or ones) who evidently had/have QUITE a bit of debt. At the very least, 4 - 5 agencies tend to call quite regularly. Some leave caller ID numbers, others just say "I need to talk to 'you' about an urgent matter, yadayadayada...." then they'll leave maybe a name and a phone number. We keep trying to tell them that this/these person(s) no longer have this number and to leave us alone, but they refuse. One, NES, leaves these messages to call some Roger Thompson at 1-800-490-0038, and I think another one they've used is 1-800-973-0600 (but that COULD be another company, not 100% sure). Last night, I decided to take down that number and called back. Some goofy-sounding woman answered the phone and I told her that somebody kept calling and leaving that name and number, but never saying WHO they wanted, other than "you", and she kind of laughed like she hears that all the time. As I was about to inform her that I didn't know who they were calling for (nobody knows where I am, so it can't be me!), she says "can you hold, please?". OH. MY. GOD!! What unmitigated, bold-faced gall! Here's a collector that's called dozens upon dozens of times anxious to talk, and I'm asked to HOLD? I go "WHAT did you just say?" and she repeated it. I uttered an expletive and hung up immediately. After a few minutes I calmed down some, and tried calling back. When she answered again, I said: "Uh, could you hold please?" and just waited. All of a sudden she realized what was going on and just went OFF! I tried to talk over her, but the overbearing ogre refused to stop shouting at me, saying they would sue ME for harrassment! Can you believe this? It's OK for them to call constantly, but when I call it's automatically an offense worth suing over. What a bunch of bull...

I never signed up for a loan with this comapny and they deposited $300 in my accoutn back in Oct. I just noticed it because I had taken out a different loan with another company which I have already paid off. I called and asked for the electronic signature and they could not provide me with the document all they sent me was an application that was not signed or anything. Does anyone know if CMG is liscensed in Oklahoma? So far they have taken $680 out of my account and I want it back.

do you think I would be able to fight this since they don't have a license in OK?

Well in my opinion you may be able to settle for the principal amount borrowed. File a fraud claim with your bank, they may be able to help you recoup some of your money. At this point I would also have your bank put a hard block on your account until you get this resolved or close your exising account and open a new one. Do not pay them back a penny more than $300.

I am guessing the loan you secured with another company must be an affiliate and thats how they got your information. For your own protection you really should close your account and open a new one as I suggested above.

Good luck with this and please keep us posted I for one would love to know the final outcome.

Well my bank deposited the money CMG withdrew out of my account back today, I have not closed the account but CMG tried to take out another $90 this morning but was disputed and my bank with give me the money back. I talked to customer service at CMG on Friday and they "e-mailed" their manager to call me back and still have not received that call. So basically I will just dispute every time they try to take money from me. So all and all they ended up with $360 out of me which could have been worse if I hadn't caught the charges. Thanks for everyone's help here I really appreciate it and you all really knew what you were talking about that is excellent!!

I have considered it. It doesn't bother me to dispute every charge they do. Evenutally I think someone will call me from there saying I haven't been paying and that is when I will tell them that I don't owe them anything. I may in the near future I just have to many things set up on auto pay through this account to change it right now.
